Lynn MA Open House Schedule - View Sunday‘s Schedule

Lynn is a fairly large city in Essex County, Massachusetts. With a population of 90,000, Lynn is located 10 miles north of downtown Boston and it's the largest city in Essex County. The city was first founded in 1629 and grew around a large shoe-making industry. The population peaked in 1930 at 102,000 and it was during this time that many historic homes in the city were constructed in the older neighborhoods.

Over the last twenty years there have been many new residential and commercial development projects. Properties that were once abandoned industrial buildings have been converted into lofts, which offer an urban lifestyle similar to that of downtown Boston at a lower price. Lynn's waterfront district has also been redeveloped.

There are three main neighborhoods in Lynn: the Central district that includes the downtown business district and Central Square; the West Lynn neighborhood that includes Veteran's Village, The Commons, Walnut St., and Pine Hill; and East Lynn, which includes Ward 1, Goldfish Pond, Wyoma Sq. and The Highlands.
