Lexington is a large town in Middlesex County. Lexington is famous as the site of the first shot "heard round the world" of the Revolutionary War. Lexington has a population of almost 32,000 people and it's part of the Greater Boston Area.
This affluent town began as a farming community in the 18th century and its large downtown remains much the same today. Many homes in Lexington were constructed during the 1960s and 1970s, when the town experienced a major population boom. There has also been a great deal of new construction in the town over the last decade, much of which has been the construction of large 2,000+ square foot Colonial style homes in tree-lined communities. There are many other styles of architecture seen in Lexington, including some Craftsman homes, bungalows, and Cape Cod homes. The popular ranch style homes built during the 1960s are located in some of the town's older neighborhoods.
