Leominster is a city in Worcester County, Massachusetts and the second-largest city in the county with 41,000 residents. Leominster is located west of Boston and north of Worcester where it's bordered by Princeton, Westminster, Sterling, Lancaster, Fitchburg, and Lunenburg.
In its early history, the city of Leominster was a farming community that later turned to manufacturing. In fact, the famous pink flamingo lawn ornament was invented in the town. Over the last few decades, Leominster has transformed into a commercial and suburban city with several villages, including French Hill, Morse Hollow, North Leominster, and the Car Barn area. The French Hill area is home to most apartments in Leominster with massive apartment complexes covering the hill.
Leominster's real estate market is mostly made up of single-family homes, however, including many spacious Colonial homes built at the turn of the century and ranch-style homes constructed during the last six decades. There is also a great deal of new construction in Leominster with many large Colonial/contemporary homes with more than 2,500 square feet of space.
