Hadley MA Open House Schedule - View Sunday‘s Schedule

Hadley, Massachusetts, located in Hampshire County, is a small town of 5,200 people and part of the Springfield metropolitan area. Hadley is unique in that it has wetlands regulations that restrict many large-scale commercial developments. The town's landscape today is mostly open-field farming, which was used by early New England settlements and disappeared from most of the region by the 18th century.

Hadley has about 538 homes and housing units per square mile. One of the most common architectural styles found in the town is the Cape Cod-style home. This cottage style originated in New England in the 17th century and it's notable for its low, broad frame with a plain front and gabled roof. The town has many historical homes dating to the early 20th century and even earlier, although there is also a great deal of newer construction built during the 1990s and later. Much of the new construction is designed with the historic Cape Cod style in mind.

The ranch-style home is also popular in Hadley. Most ranch-style homes were constructed during the 1960s and 1970s. Ranch homes are notable for the long, low profile with very little exterior decoration. The ranch style is often viewed as the quintessential American design.
