The town of Brewster is divided into two villages, West and East. It is part of Barnstable County and is home to nearly 10,000 Massachusetts residents according to the 2010 census. Brewster is bordered by the Cape Cod Bay, Dennis, Harwich, and Orleans. The town offers about 23 square miles of land, with about 325 acres of beach and marsh area. Many of the biggest mansions in Brewster were built by rich sea captains who helped establish the town. Some of these homes are now inns. Real estate is considered more valuable in Brewster than in some other cities, with a median home price of about $533,000 in 2015.
